...to geekops.co.uk. This site is a simple collection of information and guides I wrote. I hope that some of the information contained here might be useful to others. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions about anything on the site, feel free to drop me a mail and I'll do my best to answer. It's always nice hearing feedback both positive and constructively negative.
So what will you find here? Well here's a quick site map:
- Home - This page! A brief introduction to the site, why it's here and what's on it.
- Articles - A collection of articles I've written on a number of subjects. From fixing computer to building Poi, I hope my experiences can be of use to someone.
- Poi - Articles describing how to build your own Poi, ranging from simple socks right up to fire and LEDs.
- Socks - Make your own sock poi. By far the best option for ptractice poi in my opinion!
- Tennis Balls - These are what I learnt on. They have less wind-resistance than socks, and aren't stretchy.
- Kevlar (Tube wicks) - Your first stop for fire poi. The design I've developed is cheap and one of the safest ways to construct kevlar wicks.
- Wire wool - Not for the faint hearted! Here's how I built my bird feeder cages.
- LED (Basic) - A good place to start if you're interested in building yourself a set of glow-toys.
- LED (PIC controlled) - My current project. I'm calling them HyperLights
- Smoothwall
- DNS stuff - If you run a website off your xDSL connection, and have a domain pointed at it, you might find this useful. By default, accessing geekops.co.uk from my LAN won't work. This little hack fixes that.
- Traffic graphs - Some tips on hacking your traffic graphs to display more useful information.
- Poi - Articles describing how to build your own Poi, ranging from simple socks right up to fire and LEDs.
- Photo Gallery - a mirror of my entire collection of photo's. Just about every digital photo I've ever taken can be found here.
